Bad News & Good News
All have sinned! The Bible says there is not one person who is right with God. No, not even one! No one understands. No one is trying to find God. Everyone has turned away from God. They have all gone wrong.
Not one has done what is good. No, not even one! Together everyone has become useless; there is none who does good, no, not one.
Their words are full of deadly deceit; wicked lies roll off their tongues, and dangerous threats, like snake’s poison, from their lips. Their speech is filled with bitter curses.
They are quick to hurt and kill; they leave ruin and destruction wherever they go. They have not known the way of peace. They have no fear of God at all.
The purpose of God’s law is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law was given to show us how sinful we are.
When we were totally helpless, Christ came at the perfect time and gave His life for all sinners. God showed this love for us while we were still sinners against Him and hating Him. But we were saved from the punishment of sin by this death of Christ.
All of us were like sheep that had gone out of the way; we turned to our own way. Yet the Lord laid the punishment of our sin upon Him. After the suffering of His soul, He will see the light of life, and be satisfied.
As Christ was raised from the dead by the great power of God, so we will have new life also.
Since Jesus was raised from the dead, He has become a life giving Spirit.
And now God has shown us a way to be right with Him. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and so you are made right with God, and with the mouth one confesses and so is saved.
To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
All must repent of their sins and turn to God—and prove that they have changed by the good things they do. All must have their eyes opened, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God.
He delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.
For if a man is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation. The old things are gone. All things have become new.
Jesus said: He who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
